Bayeux Tapestry in 'wonderful state' after journey to London, French minister says

The French culture minister has declared the Bayeux Tapestry to be in "a wonderful state" after its journey to the British Museum, where it is being examined by conservators ahead of a September display. The 11th-century embroidery, on loan from Bayeux Museum in Normandy, is in England for the first time in 1,000 years, and the minister said the careful precautions should reassure sceptics of its safety.
