Nvidia has reportedly agreed to acquire open-source AI hub Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, aiming to protect its chip dominance as major AI labs develop their own hardware. The deal would also help Nvidia re-enter the cloud business and strengthen its position in open-source AI, keeping more customers reliant on Nvidia’s chips.
